Data is documented through the use of portable shock and vibration recorders. Equipped with a time date stamp, shock recorders help determine the precise location of the product during excessive impacts. A separate GPS system tracks the truck or railcar and documents the location of recorded impacts. Transportation-specific data gathered from the shock recorders are carefully analyzed to reproduce a packaged product's exact transportation profile on the random vibration machine. Duplicates temperature conditions from minus 30 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit for packaged products that are sensitive to varying temperature levels.
